ColorPrep is used as a pre-coloring step when applying shades like Black, Blue Black, Dark Blonde, Ash Brown, or Dark Brown on gray or light hair.

It’s also useful when very light hair, such as bleached hair, is being colored more than three shades darker.

A small exception is Berlin Blonde, which is cool but very light, making Sunrise an excellent pre-coloring choice for this shade.
