What can I do about a green cast?Updated 6 months ago
A green hue immediately after coloring is completely normal, and if you have followed the instructions, it will disappear by itself within 48 hours. Please do not shampoo your hair as this would fix the current color tone.
Even if you can't imagine it now: A green tint means that your hair has taken the color well, and that is a good sign. 😊
It is important to keep the color warm when applying it (in a water bath) and not to mix it cooler than recommended, as this can also be a reason for a greenish result.
To soften the reflex a little, you can use a short rinse: Mix a dash of apple cider vinegar (6 tbsp) with 10,14 fl. oz of warm water, leave it in the hair for 5 minutes and rinse it out again with clear water. You can then blow-dry it nice and warm, which will also make the color a little warmer.
If it is too late for first aid, you can neutralize green with a red shade such as ColorPrep or Pure Henna Red - depending on the intensity of the unwanted reflex.
As the red pigments need some time to develop, leave the neutralizing shade on a little longer - 45 to 90 minutes depending on the desired intensity.
